& THE TRUETONES
"...It is a sound that is timeless, one that seems to suggest smoky back room clubs in 50’s Chicago, without sounding out of place in the modern world. It also leads you to think that if Chess Records were a going concern today, she would be an immediate signing." - Green Man Music

Victoria Klewin & The TrueTones are a 7-piece band on the rise. A product of the burgeoning Bristol music scene, they pay homage to the golden days of jazz, soul and blues, while more contemporary influences skip their sound firmly into the present. Songwriter and front-woman Victoria Klewin has a voice that is an ear-catching mix of sweet and gritty...technically skilled, yet soulful and raw. Hanging out in jazz and blues clubs from her early teens has certainly paid off, as has her eclectic taste in music. When she's not writing for or fronting her own band she is often on the road with Hannah Williams & The Affirmations (Record Kicks) or singing with various jazz and blues acts around the UK and Europe. Well-earned comparisons to the likes of Melody Gardot, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and Alice Russell should point you in the right direction, but there's much more to her than that...
Supporting that incredible voice and bringing the songs to life are The TrueTones, a tight and sympathetic band of fine musicians who are as comfortable holding down a jazz standard as they are cutting loose with some high-energy funk and soul.
The long-awaited debut album 'Dance
me to heaven' was enthusiastically crowdfunded by the fans and
contains all-original material written by Victoria between the ages of
sixteen and twenty-eight. With enough songs tucked away in her back
pocket for albums two and three, this release marked the start of an
exciting journey for this unique artist and her band.
